- 01Your MooHome policy underwritten by QIC covers the structure of your home – including walls, roof, floors, built-in fixtures, plumbing, and fittings. It also extends to things like garages, fences, gates, and even pools or driveways within your property
- 02Building Management typically covers the main structure of the building only. MooHome underwritten by QIC protects your individual property, fixtures, and your liability as an owner, giving you full peace of mind beyond what the master policy offers.
- 03Yes. If your home becomes unlivable due to a covered event, the home insurance policy will cover the cost of alternative accommodation while your home is being repaired, based on the level of coverage you selected.
- 04Yes. Your policy includes public liability cover, protecting you if someone is injured or their property is damaged while at your home, up to the policy limit.
- 05Your landlord’s policy only covers the building itself. MooHome policy underwritten by QIC protects your contents, belongings and personal liability which your landlord’s policy won’t cover.
- 06Yes. Your personal belongings cover protects items like laptops and phones, even outside your home – including worldwide travel up to 90 days, subject to conditions.
- 07Yes – your policy includes cover for visitor belongings, up to a specified limit.

- 09Yes, sudden and accidental water damage is covered. Flood damage may also be covered, but specific limits and excesses apply.
- 10You should report it as soon as possible, and within 30 days of the incident.
- 11Yes – damage caused by events like subsidence or landslip can be covered based on the terms and conditions.
- 12Basic garden elements are covered in certain situations, like fire or storm damage. However, plants, landscaping, and outdoor items have limits as mentioned depending on the level of cover you selected.
- 13Yes. Fixed items like glass, sanitary fixtures, and even solar panel glass are covered if accidentally damaged, subject to policy limits.
- 14Yes. If you’ve agreed to sell your home and damage happens before completion, the policy can still apply – and may even transfer benefit to the buyer in certain cases.
- 15Yes – as long as the damage is sudden and accidental, like a burst pipe or leak. Gradual damage, wear and tear, or neglect wouldn’t be covered.
- 16Yes. If police or emergency services need to force entry to protect life or prevent damage, QIC policy will cover the cost of repairs under Building section of the cover.
- 17No, the security deposit is not protected by the insurance. As a tenant, the insurance would cover the contents and personal belongings, not the building which would be covered under Buildings insurance purchased by the owner.
- 18Jewellery can be covered under personal belongings, but limits apply, and high-value items should be declared. Cash is covered only up to a small limit and under specific conditions.
- 19No – MooHome QIC policy covers you and your household as defined in your policy. Roommates would typically need their own cover.
- 20You’re covered. QIC MooHome insurance policy includes cover for alternative accommodation while your home is being repaired after a covered event.
- 21Yes – as long as you’re using professional movers, your belongings are covered during the move and short-term storage, subject to policy conditions.
- 22Your home is covered in the UAE, but your personal belongings can be covered worldwide for trips up to 90 days.
- 23High-value items above AED 40,000 need to be declared separately to ensure full coverage.
- 24Yes, MooHome reimburses the cost of replacing important documents, including passports and Emirates IDs, if accidentally damaged or lost while within the UAE or while traveling for trips up to 90 days.
- 25You have a 14-day cooling-off period. If you cancel within this time and haven’t made a claim, you’ll receive a refund, less a small admin fee or AED 50.
- 26You can cancel anytime. If no claims have been made, you’ll receive a pro-rata refund for the unused period.
- 27Yes – but coverage is limited and depends on the cause of damage, subject to the level of coverage you selected at the time of issuance.
- 28If your home is left unoccupied for an extended period, over 60 days, coverage may be restricted or excluded.
- 29You should notify us as soon as possible, and no later than 30 days from the incident.
- 30Yes – if you’ve selected the cover, your domestic helper is protected for accidents and medical expenses.
- 31No. Like most insurance policies, QIC MooHome policy does not cover war, terrorism, or similar events.
