Introducing TravelSecure - Passive War Travel Insurance

Specialist cover for travellers heading to regions with heightened security risk or passive war risk.

What is
TravelSecure

Most travel insurance excludes claims arising from war or hostilities. TravelSecure is a separate, standalone policy that covers a specific gap: emergency medical costs if you are unintentionally caught up in a war event as a civilian while travelling.

It is limited cover. It is not comprehensive war insurance, and it does not cover participation in hostilities or military operations.

What's covered

All benefits apply where you are unintentionally injured by a war event as a civilian. Limits shown are the maximum payable per person.

01

Emergency medical expenses: up to USD 25,000

Emergency treatment for injury caused by a passive war event. Must be medically necessary and approved by the assistance provider where possible.

02

Emergency medical evacuation: up to USD 10,000

Evacuation to the nearest appropriate medical facility where medically necessary. This limit sits within the USD 25,000 above, not on top of it. Repatriation of remains is considered case by case; funeral costs are not covered.

03

Permanent total disablement and accidental death: USD 25,000

Payable on accidental death, or injury from a war event that stops you working in any occupation you're suited to for twelve consecutive months with no prospect of improvement.

04

24/7 emergency medical assistance

Provided by AXA Partner Assistance, 365 days a year, on +44 203 126 4179.

05

Travel Eye by AXA

Real-time risk intelligence and emergency assistance in one app. Included with every TravelSecure policy, not with standard travel insurance.

What isn't Covered

Being clear about this upfront matters more than it costs you.

This policy does not cover cancellation, curtailment, baggage, or travel disruption. Flight cancellations, rebooking, accommodation during disruption and alternative transport remain the airline or transport provider's responsibility, and you need to claim from them first.

It also doesn't cover:

  • Participation in war or military operations

  • Service in armed forces, police, fire, nursing or ambulance services

  • Travelling to or staying in a combat zone against government advice

  • Travelling against official advice or evacuation orders

  • Intentional exposure to danger, or criminal acts

  • Injuries that occurred before the policy started

  • Costs not directly linked to a war event

  • Biological, chemical, nuclear or radioactive incidents
